Dictation and taking an action are separate jobs

VoiceOS has two related modes. Dictation turns speech into text where the user is writing; Agent Mode interprets a request and works with connected tools or information. Saying the words of an email is different from asking an assistant to find the recipient, draft the reply and send it.

Choose the mode according to the intended result. A developer documenting a bug may only need cleaned-up text in an issue form. Asking the agent to create the issue also requires the right project, destination and permissions.

Polished text still needs to preserve the meaning

Dictation Mode removes filler and improves punctuation, with custom vocabulary and replacements for names, acronyms or products. The current page also describes adapting output to the active application: an email, quick message and note can use different presentation. Multilingual support broadens the input beyond one fixed speech language.

For a technical note, review the terms that carry meaning, including a version number, person's name or negative statement. A polished sentence should preserve uncertainty when the speaker was uncertain. Add recurring specialist vocabulary where supported rather than repeatedly correcting the same term.

Use screen context and connections deliberately

The homepage presents the cursor and visible screen as context for a request. Agent Mode can work with integrations such as calendar, email, notes and issue-tracking systems, and can use an organization's own MCP tools. This can reduce the need to explain which visible object or application a request concerns.

A person preparing for a meeting might ask for a relevant document, then use it to draft an agenda. Check that the returned file is the intended version and that any connected account belongs to the right organization. A capability available in one integration does not establish that every application permits the same action. Limit the connections to those needed for the workflow.

Review the action, especially when it affects another person

The Agent feature page describes a confirmation step before sends, bookings and changes. The pricing comparison qualifies confirmation as varying by action. That difference should not be flattened into a guarantee that every possible connected operation always stops in exactly the same way.

Inspect the actual confirmation and result for the task being used. For a calendar entry, that includes invitees, date, time zone and calendar. For a message, inspect the recipient and wording. Start with a task whose result is easy to see in its source app, so a successful response can be distinguished from an incomplete request.

Check the privacy arrangement for the intended workplace

The provider describes audio processing for transcription, local transcript controls and options concerning diagnostics. Its security page also identifies cloud infrastructure and subprocessors, so these statements should not be read as a promise that every part of Agent Mode runs entirely offline.

For a workplace deployment, confirm which information a connected tool receives and the retention arrangement in the agreement. The security page says the company is working toward a SOC 2 Type I examination; it does not establish a completed certification. Enterprise identity and retention requirements should be checked directly rather than inferred from the ordinary desktop workflow.

Read annual savings and the trial renewal together

Current pricing advertises annual billing at 60% below the monthly comparison. New customers receive seven days of Pro with a card required, followed by the selected paid cycle unless cancelled. The limited access described after an existing paid period ends is not a free plan available at signup.

Mac and Windows are current platforms; mobile is described as coming soon. Compare the billed total and renewal before choosing annual access. The annual saving is a separate billing offer.
